Summary

PlaySpotWhee does not require an account. We do not create user profiles, sell personal data, or use personal data for advertising. Your favorites stay on your device.

Location

If you allow it, PlaySpotWhee uses your location only while you use the app to show playgrounds nearby. Your precise location stays on your device. An approximate map center, rounded to two decimal places, is sent to our playground lookup service to return nearby results. We do not use it for tracking or to create a user profile. You can instead search for a city without granting location permission.

Data stored on your device

Your saved favorite playgrounds are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to our servers.

Map and playground data

The app requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap, sends city searches to OpenStreetMap Nominatim, and requests playground data through our service, which queries OpenStreetMap Overpass. These services and our hosting provider may process the approximate area, search terms, IP address, and standard request information under their own privacy policies. Apple Maps or Google Maps is opened only when you choose directions or open a playground there.
